Here are a few photos I took at Tugu Peringatan Negara, Malaysia back in Sep. 2005. I used this method for the photos so I can portray the blood that was spilled on the battle grounds during the war.

Temperature at -64 Warnings

2 04 2007

I recently moved to a land where the Temperature can get to a bombing -64 with the Wind Chill. I had experienced this crazy Temperature for 4 days in a row in Iqaluit back in March. You could not let any of your skin be exposed to the wind, if so it will freeze in lest than a minute. There is always someone out there that thinks that they can handle this temperature and end up dying. Today’s Temperature is -40.

Arviat, Nunavut, Canada

You are not advised to go outside during this time but if you must then 1.) let someone now you are coming or going. 2.) Always wear reflective materials on your jacket so ski-doo’s can see you and automobiles. 3.) If you have a thermos, then take it with you incase you have to ride out the storm somewhere. 4.) Make sure you have something to cover up your entire face and where ski goggles. 5.) Never take of your gloves unless it’s to drink some hot tea or hot cocoa from your thermos. 6.) Always check or call the local weather center first to get your forcast before going outside. You can also check online at http://weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca 7.) Make sure your zippers on your jacket and snow pants are done up before you leave your house. 8.) Always where good snow pants.

I hope some of these ideas can save your life if you ever get stuck in this situation. I have been there and I almost never made it, but that’s another story for another post.

Marble Mountain, Newfoundland, Canada

Here is a photo I took at Marble Mountain, Newfoundland, Canada in the fall of 2006. It was a fluke that we were out at the mountain that day and got this amazing shot.

The photo was taken with a Canon SD600 at about 3 in the afternoon. I just wish I had my Wide Angle Camera with me that day.

Missing My Dogs

1 04 2007

Well it’s been over a year now since me and my wife had to leave our two GR’s in Malaysia. It’s been hard knowing they are there and we are here on the other side of the world.

Thanks to the Canadian airlines we had to leave them there. I could fly from Malaysia to Canada 3 times for the price they wanted to charge us. So we had to do what we had to do. It was hard! A bit of advice for all you people who get dogs overseas and want to bring them back to your own country, make sure you don’t have big dog’s or a big cage. The Airlines will kill you on the shipping.

Our Female is Roxy, she is now about 2.5 years old now. You have to have a lot of energy with her. We got her as a puppy at 6 weeks old. Roxy was a dog who loved everyone and chews on everything LOL. She has seen more of then most Malaysians I would gather.

Casper

Our Male, God Bless him, he is such a gentle animal. Casper is his name and he is now about 6.5 years old. We rescued him from a dog sitting home in. He was not in very good shape when we found him. He had a hard time walking because of his Hip Dyslexia and he was never given any medication for it. His teeth were so yellow and black. It was not cheap getting him back to some what of a healthy dog. After about 5 visits to the Veterinarian and lots of $$$ in medications and a good health plan he was able to run again and keep up with Roxy. He was our miracle dog that’s for sure!

Two of them became the best of friends and it was so hard that we had to separate them when we came back to. Was not hard on just us but also on the two dogs being separated. But we were very lucky to find them very good homes where they are taken care of from where we left them. I hope to see them again on our travels to next year.
